Lean Six Sigma White Belt training in Summer 2016

White Belt Training

  • Approximately six hours
  • Introduction to Lean Six Sigma and tools and processes
  • Hands-on project 

Students will learn selected Lean Six Sigma tools and methodology and be able to apply best practices to processes and projects. The six and half hour session will include a three hour training and three and half hours hands-on application in small groups. Students should bring in an idea for a process they would like to improve using Lean methodology. Students will be able to earn up to 5 PDUs upon completion of training.

Green Belt Training

  • Approximately 40 hours of instruction
  • Students will develop a comprehensive understanding of Lean Six Sigma concepts and how to apply them to projects
  • Comprehensive team projects will tackle real business challenges

Students will go through a 5-7 day intensive or semester-long academic course with completion of at least one project through the entirety of the DMAIC process. UAA employees participating in this course shall become go-to facilitators for improvement projects and serve as project mentors. Employees will also be expected to help train teams of White Belts and assist in the training of Green Belts. Supervisors must complete a questionnaire before their employees will be admitted into the course.
