Network Structure

The content management system is comprised of sites, locations, and screens, in descending order of primacy. Specifically, a site is an institution or major unit thereof, e.g., in this interface, the University of Alaska Anchorage is considered a site. A site can be comprised of one or more locations. A location is a subset of a site that contains one or more screens. A location might be a building, or group of screens located within a similar management area. For example, three screens configured to show room availability may be in the "BuildingB-RoomSigns" location. A screen is a single display screen. Permissions on this system inherit. That is to say, if user X has permissions to Site A, which is comprised of Location 1, 2, and 3, then user X can administer all locations and all screens within Site A.
