Making a Difference: Jeff Hoffman

Jeff Hoffman

When Professor Jeff Hoffman saw a need for support in the engineering program, he and his wife Julie chose to take action.

"Some of our graduating seniors had come to me and said that they had felt a little isolated during their freshman and sophomore years, and wished there had been more ways to connect with the faculty and the upper classmen. They also felt it was difficult to find tutors in their field.

"It was clear that our students needed help, so my wife and I made a donation to establish the Engineering Tutoring Center. The center delivers the kind of academic services our lower classmen were looking for, while at the same time providing financial support for our upper classmen tutors."

The Hoffmans' contribution assists students directly by providing supplies for the center and wages for the student workers. Their gift is making a difference in the lives of the students we serve every day.

Join colleagues, like Jeff, who stepped up to show their support for student success by making a tax-deductible gift to the UAA fund of your choice. Whether you give through payroll deduction or make a one-time donation, your gift makes a difference.
