Digital Arts and Graphic Design
The Digital Arts program is designed to teach students the concepts and techniques of creative expression using computer imaging technology. Initially, students are instructed in the basic hardware and software used for the design of raster-based and vector-based imagery. At the intermediate and advanced levels, students will focus on a fine arts or applied art emphasis to develop higher skill levels appropriate to their academic goals. In the process of using the computer as an extension of the senses and intellect, students are required to adapt and apply principals of design necessary in all fine arts media to the application of digital technology. The Digital Arts lab/studio is equipped with 15 workstations, large-format scanners and inkjet and laser printers to adequately serve the academic needs of students in digital design.
