Biography

25-year journalism career in Alaska followed by 20 years in public policy work at federal, state and municipal levels, and now a return to journalism with the purchase of The Skagway News. Alaska journalism work includes ownership of two weekly newspapers -- the Wrangell Sentinel, and The Paper, in Juneau -- reporting stints with the Anchorage Times, Anchorage Daily News, The Associated Press and Petroleum News, and time as managing editor at the Juneau Empire and editorial page editor at the Anchorage Daily News. Currently, an oil-and-gas columnist for the Alaska Journal of Commerce.
