Research Interests
Dr. Edwards published her research in The Environmental Justice (June 2011, "Nuclear Colonialism and the Social Construction of Landscape in Alaska"), Humanity and Society (February 2006, "Public Meetings on Contamination: Framing Harmlessness"), Contexts (Spring 2008, "An Ounce of Precaution"), College Teaching (2007, "Student Self-Grading in Social Statistics") and Teaching Sociology (October 2010, "Using Nail Polish to Teach about Gender and Homophobia"; July 2013, "This Land is Our Land: The Fight to Reclaim the Commons").Dr. Edwards and Dr. Marie Lowe (ISER/Anthropology) were awarded a contract with the Association of Alaska Housing Authorities in the summer of 2014 to develop a literature review and potential methodologies to study the social consequences of inadequate housing in Alaska.
