You do not need to major in Theatre or Dance to join.

DANCE CLUB
The Dance Club is in charge of fundraising, advertising, organizing social events,
and raising awareness of dance on campus and in the community. Throughout the year,
the Club offers various dance workshops for UAA students and community members. You
do not need to major in Theatre or Dance to join.
Dance Ensemble
The UAA Dance Ensemble is a student dance company of the University of Alaska Anchorage.
It provides opportunities to improve and expand dance technique in a variety of styles,
and to participate in the creation and presentation of original choreographic works. Ensemble members are expected to participate in a least two dance productions during
an academic year, which also means additional time for rehearsals and performances.
Participation in the UAA Dance Ensemble requires a minimum of a year commitment (fall and spring semesters). Upon acceptance, members are required to register for DNCE A490 Dance Choreography and Ensemble (3 credits) and DNCE A223 Contemporary Modern II (2 credits).
UAA Department of Theatre and Dance provides most of the administrative, educational, financial and technical assistance for the Ensembles. Ensemble members also participate in fundraising events through the UAA Dance Club so that the company can continue to have the extraordinary opportunities to work with internationally recognized guest artists, gain valuable contacts in the community, and receive financial assistance for traveling and research.
