Continue to learn daily vocabulary and simple sentence patterns to build the basic skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing, enable students to communicate in daily context and  read simple Chinese texts with the help of Pinyin;

Traditional Chinese Medical Terminologies

Course Information

  • Course Description: This course is to teach Chinese medical terminologies for traditional Chinese acupuncture points and massage to TCM students or practitioners. About 40 terms in Chinese are to be introduced that are connected to the 40 acupuncture points.
  • Course Prerequisite: Traditional Chinese Medicine Learners 

Instructional Goal

Through the twelve lessons, students can master forty Chinese medicine words, understand the meaning of every character represented in the vocabulary of traditional Chinese medicine, and study the evolution of Chinese characters and their meaning to understand the origin of Chinese medicine terminology.

In addition, the basic knowledge of Chinese phonetic system and Chinese character system will be discussed, including the spelling system, the basic strokes / parts of Chinese characters, and the meaning of common Chinese radicals.
