  • China Workshop Program for Foreign Chinese Language Teachers

    Good News: We have different free programs for potential teachers

    Training Programs for Overseas Chinese Teachers is specifically set up by Hanban for the enhancement of communication and cooperation in the area of Chinese language teaching at home and abroad.

    Foreign teachers who are under 60 years old and work at public schools abroad or Chinese applicants who have permanent residence certificates granted by their host countries can apply for this program.

    Hanban will pay the cost during the participants' stay in China, and the participant should pay for air tickets, visa application fees, and so on.

    The courses in the workshop, based on the needs of Chinese language teachers at various levels in different countries, focus mainly on a series of Chinese language knowledge and education courses, theory, and methodology of teaching Chinese, application of modern educational technology in Chinese language teaching, cultural practices, and exchange and seminars between Chinese language teachers in China and other countries.

    Beijing International Chinese College is the organizer of this program and has held it sixteen times. We have trained more than 1000 participants from Canada, USA, Malaysia, Spain, Russia, South Korea, Nepal, etc. we will be organizing the China Workshop Program for Foreign Chinese Language Teachers in 2016. We plan to train 100 participants and the program will last from Sept 8th to 28th. During the three-week training course, we will help participants understand the present situation of the international Chinese teaching, become familiar with the standard of international Chinese teachers, and improve their ability and level of teaching Chinese as a second language.

    The three-week training course includes 106 class hours. The professional lessons includes 52 class hours which are 49% of all; the cultural lessons includes 24 hours which are 23% of all; the practical lesson includes 30 class hours which are 28% of all.

    There is a test after the training course, which including teaching presentation and teaching summary. If you pass the test, you will get a certificate given by Hanban and BICC.

  • Basic Information of BICC

    Approved by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission and the Beijing Civil Affairs Bureau, Beijing International Chinese College (BICC), a professional educational institution devoted to the international promotion of Chinese, was founded on September 2005. BICC are one of the executive members of the 8th Council of the International Society for Chinese Language Teaching. BICC not only focuses on teaching international students Chinese but also offers training in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. BICC integrate Chinese teaching resources and advanced learning methods to meet the needs of people of different nationalities, different age groups, and different education backgrounds. BICC would like to become the ambassador of Chinese language and culture.

  • Insurance Statement

    It is strongly recommended that all international travelers have health/travel insurance that will cover them for sickness, injury, mental health, evacuation, and repatriation while they are abroad.     Many other policies exist. Students will want to read the eligibility requirements carefully and consider their personal health circumstances and travel plans in selecting appropriate coverage.

    Students will not earn university credit through this program.
