  • Northeast Normal University (NENU): Located in Changchun, Jilin Province (approximately 300 miles northeast of Beijing), NENU is considered the number two normal university in China. NENU provides the UAA CI with people to assist in the management of the Institute and offer programs in Chinese language and culture. UAA is fortunate to be partnered with this important Chinese University.
  • Hanban: An office of the Chinese Ministry of Education, Hanban is the principal sponsor of the Confucius Institute Program. Since 2006 Hanban has sponsored the creation of over 250 Confucius Institutes in 78 countries world wide. Hanban provides funds, curriculum materials, training and other support to its CI partners. The significant resources invested by Hanban demonstrate the commitment of the Chinese government to this program.
  • Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in San Francisco: The Consulate General of the People‚Äôs Republic of China oversees the affairs of the Chinese government in the region including California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Alaska. They helped initiate the discussions leading to the creation of the UAA CI and have provided invaluable assistance to UAA as our Confucius Institute was founded and has started operation.
  • World Trade Center Alaska: The World Trade Center Alaska is an important community partner of the UAA CI (Executive Director Greg Wolf one of our Directors). The WTCAK is a private non-profit membership organization providing international trade and business services to members and community partners across the state. The mission of WTCAK is to assist Alaskans to successfully compete for trade and investment in the global market place.
  • Anchorage School District: The UAA CI works with the Anchorage School District to build their programs in Chinese language and culture instruction.
  • Alaska Chinese Association: The ACA, an important community partner, is an organization based in Anchorage, Alaska, which supports the local Chinese community and organizes cultural events and activities for the general community of Anchorage. We also maintain a Chinese school to foster cultural appreciation in students of all ages. The ACA works with the UAA CI in presenting cultural events for the anchorage community.
