FRC Team 568, The Nerds of the North

Join Alaska's one and only high school FRC Robotics team, hosted right here at UAA!

About the Team

The UAA College of Engineering hosts Alaska's one and only high school FRC Robotics team, team 568, the Nerds of the North.

Team 568 is an Alaska-wide high school robotics team that designs and builds large, competitive robots to compete against other teams in the FIRST Robotics Competition in the Pacific Northwest Region. The team is hosted in the UAA Engineering and Industry building in the Robotics and Innovation Lab, which they share with the UAA Robotics team. UAA engineering students, faculty, and staff assist in mentoring the team in many different areas of expertise.

In addition to designing, building, and programming robots, the team also conducts outreach to encourage younger students to pursue STEM careers and keep up their literacy skills.
