We understand that choosing your future career is a daunting task, and we truly want you to find the career that best fits your strengths and passions. We have put together a few resources to help you identify compatible career options.

You can take our What Kind of Engineer Are You personality test and read up on a wide range of engineering and computer science careers on our Engineering Exploration resource pages.

Maybe you haven't settled on engineering yet. No problem! The Alaska Career Information System (AKCIS) and the University's Career Coach are great resources that provide personality and career interest inventories, plus local and national information on occupation demand, salary, and training/education programs. If you want a more in-depth assessment, consider registering for a personality and interest inventory at UAA's Testing Center

So you've explored engineering careers and what our programs have to offer. What are your next steps?

We highly recommend you come check out UAA in person! Reach out to the UAA Admissions department to schedule a Green and Gold Visit, and be sure to let them know you are interested in engineering so they can block off time for you to come see us. You can also explore UAA’s campus through our online Virtual Tour.

To learn more about the College of Engineering, we recommend attending our annual Journey into Engineering events, which provide you opportunities to interact with faculty and students through hands-on demonstrations while touring our buildings and research facilities. Can't make it to one of these events in person? No problem! You can live-stream the event online or view recordings of previous events. We are also happy to provide individual or whole group tours of the College of Engineering.

Other online resources include information on our various degree programs and lists of available scholarships. And, of course, our academic advisors are always standing by, ready to provide advice and answer your questions about class scheduling, program requirements, and so much more.
