    Microcom is looking for a Sr. Telecommunications Engineer to join their team in our Anchorage, Alaska office. In this position you will work closely with customer and the Microcom team to plan, schedule and track all phases and aspects of multiple projects of varying complexity, including engineering, budgets, goals, deliverables, logistics and reporting.

    As a member of the R&M team, the Project Engineer will be responsible for performing analysis and design tasks related to surface transportation projects. Tasks generally include initiating and developing technical design concepts and details, studies and recommended design solutions, and preparing final plans, specifications and cost estimates in accordance with the appropriate design standards.  During construction, tasks typically include technical support, submittal reviews and milestone site inspections.

  • National Aeronautics and Space Administration, NASA Academy and Internship Programs DEADLINE: February 1, 2019

    NASA offers professional development and leadership opportunities to students through their Academy and Internship programs.

    NASA Summer Internships of up to $7,300 (+$1000 travel stipend) will be awarded through a competitive process. Alaska Space Grant sponsors selected students. Students receiving awards in past competitions may apply and receive awards for subsequent competitions.

    Students interested in NASA internships will need to apply both to NASA and to the Alaska Space Grant Program for potential sponsorship. Students must apply at the Space Grant link to be eligible for funding from Space Grant, as well as completing the NASA internship at the links below.

  • Alaska Department of Transportation-Bridge Section (Juneau)

    AKDOT Bridge Section in Juneau is currently accepting applications for 2019 college summer intern position. This is a great opportunity for motivated civil engineering students interested in pursuing a career in structural engineering. Depending on experience the intern will be working on a variety of bridge engineering tasks including: bridge inspection trips around the state, load rating bridges, checking design calculations, plan review, etc.
