Alaska INBRE (IDeA Networks for Biomedical Research Excellence) network is a statewide program that aims to bring 21st century biomedical research to Alaska and to involve more Alaskans in the research process. Both graduate and undergraduate students have an opportunity to participate in research.
Undergraduate Summer Research Experience
Outstanding University of Alaska undergraduate students in the biological and physical sciences or mathematics at the University of Alaska can apply to work in a biomedical laboratory environment building skills and gaining knowledge. UAF, UAA or UAS students are supported with a UA mentor who will supervise the research. Ten students from across the UA system will be selected each academic year.
Graduate Research Assistantship Award
This award provides an opportunity for 10 graduate students at the University of Alaska (UAF, UAS, and UAA) campuses to provide support for research projects in the biomedical sciences. Graduate students funded through this program will gain valuable experience in designing, conducting, and reporting biomedical research.
