Mat-Su College Healthcare Career Exploration Academy with ETT Certification

Campers: For students entering 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade
Dates: On Campus May 22-26 and May 30-June 2, 9:00 am – 4:30 pm: Healthcare Career Exploration and Online May 15- June 2: ETT Certification
Description: This academy will provide both healthcare career exploration and Emergency Trauma Technician (ETT) certification.  From May 22-26, participants will work on campus to explore various health-related careers through networking with professionals in various medical fields, hands-on activities to provide insight into daily responsibilities and touring medical facilities.  Academy participants will also complete the 3-week ETT certification program by meeting online from May 15-May 26 and in the paramedic lab from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm, May 30-June 2. Academy participants who successfully pass the ETT certification will earn 3 college credits.  Students must be 14.
Tuition: $150 by April 1; $175 after April 1

Summer Science Camps 2017 for Students entering 6-8th grade

Under the guidance of experienced scientists and science educators, campers will work in the college science labs to engage in hands-on exploration of topics ranging from human anatomy to forensics.

Mini-Med School I
Dates: June 5-9, 8:30-noon
Campers: Students entering 6th, 7th, and 8th grade
Description: Back by popular demand, in Mini-Med School I, campers will become medical students for a week. They will explore various organ systems such as the skeletal, digestive, and cardiac systems through hands-on animal dissections and engaging activities.
Tuition: $60 by April 15; $75 after April 15

Crime Scene Investigation
Dates: June 12-16, 8:30-noon
Campers: Students entering 6th, 7th, and 8th grade
Description: Ever wonder how a hair can solve a crime? Using the tools and techniques forensic scientists use to solve crimes, campers will become crime scene investigators.
Tuition: $60 by April 15; $75 after April 15

Healthcare Career Exploration
Date: June 19-23, 8:30-noon
Campers: Students entering 6th, 7th, and 8th grade
Description: Do you think you want to be a doctor, nurse, physical therapist, occupational therapist, or lab aid? Campers will meet various health care professionals and will perform hands-on activities that provide insight into the daily job responsibilities and educational requirements for various health care professions.
Tuition: $60 by April 15; $75 after April 15

Mini-Med School II
Dates: June 26-30, 8:30-noon
Campers: Students entering 6th, 7th, and 8th grade
Description: In Mini-Med School II, campers will continue their exploration of the human body. Campers will explore the nervous, urinary, and muscular systems through hands-on dissections and engaging activities. Mini-Med School I is not a prerequisite for this camp.
Tuition: $60 by April 15; $75 after April 15
