National Youth Science Camp

The National Youth Science Camp (NYSC) is a three-week summer secondary science education program for graduating seniors that takes place in West Virginia. The camp promotes scientific leadership through lectures, hands-on research opportunities, a challenging outdoor recreational program, as well as special events. One of these special events includes a tour of scientific research centers, such as the National Institutes of Health, Goddard Space Flight Center, the US Army Medical Research Institute for Infectious Diseases and the National Zoological Park.

Alaska is invited to send two students to this camp each year which is offered free of charge to all participants. Students who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, leadership potential and excellence in the sciences are encouraged to apply.

Camp Dates: June 14-July 8, 2017

Applications for 2017 must be submitted and received by the selection coordinator no later than March 1.
