Alaska Heart Institute Fellowship

These grants fund a significant undergraduate research project in biomedicine under the guidance of a faculty mentor. Each grant funds up to $5,000 in project costs, plus tuition for up to 6 credits and a $1,500 stipend awarded upon completion of the project. This award is sponsored by University Honors College. Undergraduate Research Grants

The Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarship offers several competitive Undergraduate Research Grants each year to support undergraduate research and creative activity.The award funds the actual costs of the project up to $2,000 plus a $500 student stipend.

Eligible students for either award must be accepted in an associate or baccalaureate degree program at the University of Alaska Anchorage (any campus) and must be enrolled in at least six credits each semester for the duration of the research (with the exception of the summer semester). Undergraduate Research in the Community Award

This award support projects that actively involve and meet the needs of community partners. The ultimate aim is to define and address a pressing community problem; do intellectual work that produces a public good; or conduct artistic, critical, or historical work that contributes to a community-identified issue. Awards will fund up to $2,000 for project expenses plus a $500 stipend. Funds will be awarded to offset research costs such as analyses, supplies, equipment, software, surveys, and travel. The stipend will be awarded upon successful completion of the project.

Eligible students for either award must be an undergraduate degree seeking University of Alaska Anchorage student (any campus). The project must be a joint endeavor that includes a faculty member and one or more community members.  Only projects actively involving a community organization or agency in defining the problem, hypothesis, and outcomes will be considered.
