Human Performance Lab Tour

The Human Performance Lab (HPL) host free public tours of the facility. The tour includes a general overview of the HPL and the services offered here as well as explanations of the different types of equipment, including cycle ergometer, metabolic cart, treadmills, and the BodPod®. The lab is located in Eugene Short Hall, Room 102, 2601 Providence Dr, Anchorage, AK 99508.

Schedule a Private or a Group Tour

A private tour or a Group tour (a maximum of twelve people) of the HPL is available for free. Tours last about an hour. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Tours to youth groups and groups where children are a majority are limited to ages 10 & up.

Request a Tour for Your School Group

During the school year, the HPL offers special tours for school groups for grades 5-12 . These tours include a hands-on learning activity and last about an hour or more. Group tours should be scheduled at least three weeks in advance through our Tour Request Form.

Tour Guidelines 

  • All ages are welcome. Ages under 17 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • Please stay with the guide at all times and do not touch any equipment unless instructed to do so by your guide.
  • No food or drink is permitted while in the laboratory
  • No pets allowed in the laboratory
  • Photography is permitted
