This list is used to circulate scholarship opportunities (tuition waivers, etc.), share relevant job postings, and spread important program information. We average three emails per month and only faculty can send to this list. Visit the BSHS Student Mailing List to sign up.

Notice: Tuition Waiver - Due by 5 pm Wednesday, May 29, 2019

Dear BSHS Students,

The Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences program is delighted be able to offer a limited number of partial tuition waivers for Summer 2019. A one-credit waiver is worth approximately $200 (calculated using in state tuition), and does not cover fees (hence the terminology "partial").

Minimum requirements are a declared major or pre-major of Bachelor of Sciences in the Health Sciences, a minimum current GPA of 2.5, and enrollment in 3 credits of coursework at UAA.

If you would like to be considered for one of these tuition waivers for Summer 2019 please submit your application to me (whitmore@alaska.edu) by 5 pm on Wednesday, May 29. Applications will be reviewed by a committee of Department of Health Sciences faculty.

To apply, submit your name, contact information, and student ID number, along with a one-page essay describing why you should be selected for this partial tuition waiver. Include your current GPA, your anticipated graduation date for your BSHS degree, and what courses you are taking in Summer 2019. Factors that are likely to strengthen one's application include academic excellence, demonstrated leadership and community service, and commitment to public health practice.

Remember, the deadline for submission is 5 pm on Wednesday May 29, 2019.

Best,

Dr. W
