UAA Campus is Open

We are pleased to report the UAA Anchorage campus will open on Wednesday, Dec. 5, following last Friday's earthquake. The Chugiak-Eagle River Campus will remain closed, but classes will resume in alternative locations. "Criminal Justice in the Northwest Arctic Borough" by Richard Erlich

During the past twenty years, substantial changes in community life have occurred in Northwest Arctic Borough, a predominately Inupiaq Eskimo area on Alaska's northwest coast. This article combines historical and research data with personal knowledge to describe some of these major social and cultural shifts and to examine concurrent changes in the criminal justice system in the borough, focusing particularly on criminal filings in Kotzebue Superior Court and local magistrate courts.
