The 2011 Alaska Victimization Survey for the Fairbanks North Star Borough was conducted from April to June 2011, and results were released on October 7, 2011 in Fairbanks. Findings include:

  • 44.8% of adult women in the Fairbanks North Star Borough have experienced intimate partner violence, sexual violence or both, in their lifetime;
  • 5.5% of adult women in the Fairbanks North Star Borough have experienced intimate partner violence, sexual violence or both, in the past year;
  • 3 out of every 10 adult women in the Fairbanks North Star Borough have experienced sexual violence in their lifetime; and
  • 3 out of every 10 in the Fairbanks North Star Borough have experienced intimate partner violence in their lifetime.

Lifetime estimates

Fairbanks North Star Borough lifetime estimates. Out of every 100 adult women who reside in the Fairbanks North Star Borough: 35 experienced intimate partner violence (IPV). 32 experienced sexual violence. 45 experienced intimate partner violence, sexual violence, or both.
