Prerequisite Guidelines

Physical Therapy Program

While we cannot state specific prerequisites for this program, we can provide some general guidance. Physical therapy programs usually require the following prior to admission:

A bachelor’s degree

  • General College Chemistry I and II with labs - 8 semester hours
  • General College Physics I and II with labs - 8 semester hours
  • General College Biology I and II with labs - 8 semester hours
  • Human Anatomy and lab - 4 semester hours

If only Human Anatomy and Physiology (combined) courses are available, then take 8 credits of Human Anatomy & Physiology and lab

  • Human Physiology and lab - 4 semester hours
  • If only Human Anatomy and Physiology (combined) courses are available, then take 8 credits of Human Anatomy & Physiology and lab
  • Social Sciences (psychology, sociology, anthropology) - 9-12 semester hours
  • English composition
  • Statistics (inferential and descriptive)
    (Note: research methods courses do not substitute for statistics)
