MEDEX Program Application Timeline

Department of Health Sciences | MEDEX / Physician Assistant Program

Information sessions are held throughout the year. Information session dates are posted on the UW MEDEX website and are updated periodically.

The application cycle for the next admission cycle is available beginning May 1, with an annual final application deadline of October 1. All MEDEX applicants must submit a completed CASPA application, including references and transcripts, on or before the final application deadline in order to be considered in the current admissions cycle.

To apply, complete the Central Application Service for Physician Assistants (CASPA) application.

Send official transcripts to CASPA. CASPA verification can take up to five weeks after submission. Once the CASPA application is verified, it is reviewed by MEDEX admissions staff. Initial screenings of applications can take up to three weeks.

Applications that meet MEDEX prerequisites are moved forward to the full faculty review phase. This review is holistic, where all parts of the application (personal statements, references, clinical history, academics, etc.) are reviewed. This process can take several months. View more information about applying here.

Initial screenings and faculty review continue for up to six to eight weeks after the application deadline.

MEDEX will invite selected applicants for interviews. Interview dates typically take place from September through January annually. Admission is on a rolling basis, so be sure to apply early!

If accepted to the MEDEX program, students will begin a new student orientation in mid-June, in the year following their application. Students will return to their home campuses for the remainder of the didactic curriculum.
