BS Dietetics Advising
Students interested in completing the Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics must meet specific requirements in order to be eligible to apply to the full-major dietetics program. Application to the full-major Dietetics program is competitive with a limited number of seats available each year. Academic advising is essential to ensure that students are well-informed about the program and are taking courses that allow students to progress through the program efficiently.
Advising Pathway for New Students
- Apply for admission to UAA as a Pre-Major Dietetics major.
- Submit UAA-approved placement test scores for English (SAT, ACT or Accuplacer) and mathematics (ALEKS) to the Office of Admission.
- Schedule an appointment with an advisor. Please use the following information to help guide you to an appropriate advising contact. All students in the BS in Dietetics program are required to participate in a dietetics advising session a minimum of one time per year.
Advising Pathway for Transfer Students
- Apply for admission to UAA as a Pre-Major Dietetics major.
- Submit official transcripts from all prior undergraduate institutions for evaluation. Transfer students are encouraged to apply to UAA no later than November 1 (Spring admissions deadline) prior to the spring application to the dietetics program to allow for sufficient time for application processing and transcript evaluation.
- Schedule an appointment with an advisor. Please use the following information to help guide you to an appropriate advising contact. All students in the BS in Dietetics program are required to participate in a dietetics advising session a minimum of one time per year.
