Academic Advising for Allied Health Students
Note: Due to the COVID-19 outbreak and the mandate to stay at home, students should not get immunizations at the present time nor should they contact the Student Health Center for immunization verifications right now. Student should check the websites periodically for future notice/updates on immunizations.
The majority of advising for academic programs in the School of Allied Health is conducted through First Year Advising and Student Success and College of Health Student Success Center. Advisors are available to meet with students on a one-on-one basis to discuss a wide range of academic topics including program requirements, short and long term academic and career plans, competitive selection processes, financial aid eligibility, and more.
First Year Advising
First year advisors support entering bachelor’s degree-seeking students with under 30 academic credits. To schedule an appointment, call their office at 907-786-0338 or schedule online through the Seawolf App Desktop or Mobile App.
College of Health Advisors
College advisors support certificate and associate degree students, and bachelor’s degree-seeking students beyond their first year. To schedule an appointment, call their office at 907-786-1318 or schedule online through the Seawolf App Desktop or Mobile App.
Students are often paired with a faculty member when they reach particular points in their academic pathway, depending on the program. Faculty work in collaboration with the advisors in the College of Health Student Success Center. They often specialize in advising that is specific to their program or the career field.
