Alaska Health Education Summit
Save the Date!
Join us this Spring to start your journey into Healthcare on March 25, 2023 both in-person and online.
Hosted by the University of Alaska Anchorage’s WWAMI School of Medical Education and College of Health, the Health Education Summit offers information to anyone wanting to learn more about the process of becoming a health professional, including students, parents, school counselors and advisors. Attendees can explore the wide range of health and social services degree programs offered at UAA, learn about the application process, and get tips on being a competitive applicant. Participants also have the opportunity to win prizes, including academic scholarships!
The Health Education Summit is geared towards high school students, current undergraduate students, and anyone who is considering returning to school or pursuing a career change! Participants have the opportunity to:
- Listen to keynote speakers
- Join breakout sessions geared toward high school students, undergraduates and non-traditional students
- Participate in a mock interview like what you will experience when applying to programs
- Talk with representatives from academic programs and student support/resources at UAA
- Win prizes, including academic scholarships
- Tour the facilities of UAA's health programs

2022 Alaska Health Education Summit
Date: Saturday, March 26, 2022
Time: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Location: Online via Zoom
The 2022 Summit will take place online and will provide keynote speakers, panels with experts from various health careers and programs, and interactie interprofssional health scenarios, not to mention the opportunity to win great prizes!

2021 Summit Archive
The 2021 Summit took place via Zoom and provided students the opportunity to learn about the competative application selection process for several clinical health programs as well as study skills and learning strategies. Panel discussions gave participants an opportunity to chat with faculty and staff from various clinical, community, and behavioral health programs across the College of Health. Students and community members may continue to use these resources to learn more about health careers in Alaska and degree programs at UAA.
