Alaska WWAMI (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho) School of Medical Education students from UAA spent a rainy day in Girdwood learning to treat injuries and save lives in the backcountry from the Alyeska Resort Ski Patrol.
WWAMI's rising second-year students are on their Rural Underserved Opportunities Program (RUOP) rotations and working on summer research projects in rural Alaska.

On Saturday, March 5, Alaska WWAMI medical students connected with faculty and alumni over cocoa, great conversation and winter festivities in celebration of 50 years of partnership between the University of Alaska Anchorage and the University of Washington School of Medicine. Alaska WWAMI grows the next generation of physicians and expands Alaskans’ access to a high-quality medical education.
