UAA Campus is Open

We are pleased to report the UAA Anchorage campus will open on Wednesday, Dec. 5, following last Friday's earthquake. The Chugiak-Eagle River Campus will remain closed, but classes will resume in alternative locations. Students should check UAOnline for their new meeting location. As you return to campus, we encourage you to check the web page for important safety tips and resources about how to submit work requests to facilities for repairs.  We're excited to announce our new Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety & Health degree!

The Occupational Safety and Health program prepares students for employment as safety professionals in a variety of industries, including construction, petroleum, mining and tourism.

Employment opportunities are growing for safety professionals. This program provides a thorough background in occupational safety and health, preparing graduates for entry-level safety positions in industry and government agencies throughout Alaska.

Program coursework includes hazardous materials, safety training methods, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, injury prevention, epidemiology, Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards, and safety program management and record keeping.
