Get Hired by UAA

It's great that you are interested in sharing your expertise and passion for a subject or profession with students at UAA. Here's how to go about getting started:

  • Apply via Careers at UA. The department will contact you if interested.
  • Make sure you complete all the paperwork and turn it in to the department.
  • Your employment is tentative until close to the start of the semester. When your hire is official, you will receive an appointment letter to sign and return to your department.
  • When you return your appointment letter, ask about:
    • Course information, delivery methods, meeting dates and times
    • A desk copy of assigned textbooks
    • Department expectations for office hours, exams, etc.
    • Printer and copier access for face-to-face classes 
    • Office space, classroom assignment, and keys (if applicable)
    • A primary department contact if you have questions
