Council of Graduate Schools
The Council of Graduate Schools' (CGS) mission is to improve and advance graduate education in order to ensure the vitality of intellectual discovery. CGS accomplishes its mission through advocacy, innovative research, and the development and dissemination of best practices. Supporting graduate education is critical to achieving the highly skilled workforce needed for the U.S. to compete effectively in the 21st century global economy. It offers useful information and research on graduate programs for dean, students, and instructors.

UAA faculty and staff associated with graduate programs are welcome to become members under the Institutional Membership. As a CGS member, you are at the center of the graduate education community and have the opportunity to:

  • Attend CGS meetings and workshops
  • Engage in discussions with CGS strategic partners, such as the NSF and Council for Opportunity in Education
  • Keep up-to-date on federal policy
  • Participate in networking events
  • Receive discounts on CGS Publications On-line Bookstore
  • Publish your institutional website address on the CGS website

Western Association of Graduate Schools

The primary purpose of the Western Association of Graduate Schools (WAGS) is “the consideration of mutual problems among the member institutions, relating the Graduate School and research. The members of WAGS are accredited institutions of higher education in the western United States and Canada that offer Master’s and Doctoral degrees. WAGS is a regional association affiliated with the U.S. Council of Graduate Schools

National Association of Graduate Admissions Professionals
The National Association of Graduate Admissions Professionals (NAGAP) is the only professional organization devoted exclusively to the concerns of individuals working in the graduate admissions, recruitment, and orientation environment.

Membership in NAGAP provides an opportunity to network with professional colleagues at all sizes and types of institutions: large and small, public and private, secular and non-secular.
