Weather Closure

University of Alaska Anchorage campus will be closed September 24, 2021 beginning at 6:40 AM, due to weather. Students and employees should check their email for more information. The university will remain closed for the weekend and reopen on Monday morning.

The Alaska Airlines Center will be open Saturday, September 25, for the home volleyball match that afternoon.

Symposium Poster Presentation

2019 Undergraduate Research & Symposium Submission(for students not receiving OURS grants)

(The information on this page regarding abstract submission dates and poster-printing submission dates is for students who have not received OURS funding. Students with OURS funding are not required to submit abstracts and have different deadlines for poster printing that have been communicated to them directly by the Honors College)

The Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarship (University Honors College) is pleased to announce the Undergraduate Research and Discovery Symposium, scheduled for Friday, April 19th, 2019. This event showcases student research and creative activities from across disciplines at UAA.

Students from all disciplines are encouraged to submit an abstract to present a poster during the Undergraduate Research Symposium Poster Session on Friday, April 19th from 3:00 to 4:00 PM.

Student Abstract Deadline: April 4, 2019.

Submission Guidelines

Abstracts should be submitted as a Word or pdf attachment to an e-mail (not written in the body of the e-mail). Please include the students' last name and first initial in the file name.

Poster Printing

The Honors College will print posters free of charge. If you wish to have your poster printed by Honors,

1. The poster size is limited to 24” x 36”

2. Poster files are due to the College no later than April 4th.

3. Poster file titles must include the student last name

If you opt not to have your poster printed by the Honors College you are not restricted to a maximum size of 24” x 36”. However, posters will be propped on tripods, so very large posters are discouraged.
