What is a Community Engaged Student Assistant (CESA)?

Community Engaged Student Assistants (CESA) support students, faculty, and community partners in four key areas:

  1. Developing community partnerships with faculty;
  2. Recruiting, placing, training and coordinating service-learners for courses;
  3. Developing creative projects, applying technical expertise, and collecting research data;
  4. Providing direct service/research to the community partner(s).

Current CESA Opportunities:

CESA RFPs are typically announced for each semester Fall and Spring. Check back for future CESA RFPs or join our listserv.
We anticipate announcing another RFP for Fall CESAs in August.
Please Note: Faculty must apply for each semester that they would like to request a CESA award.
For questions or more information, please contact the CCEL office at 786-4062 or uaa.ccel@alaska.edu

*Students must meet Financial Aid requirements to be eligible for Administration Scholarship Awards including being admitted into a UAA Anchorage campus degree program, and meet SAP, and GPA requirements.
