Indigenous Initiatives
Difficult Dialogues between academic and indigenous communities involve some of the most important questions of our time, including the very purpose of education, the future of our global ecosystems, and best ways to teach most of our students. Join the conversation!
The University of Alaska has sponsored several Difficult Dialogues initiatives related to indigenous issues, cultures and peoples, including: a faculty development intensive, a book Indigenous Ways of Teaching and Difficult Dialogues in Higher Education (Stop Talking), faculty portfolios on applying indigenous approaches in the classroom, and a range of other initiatives, including student forums and the use of Native case studies in the classroom.
