Toxic Friday
Toxic Friday is a video that showcases several forms of intimidation, bullying, and
other toxic behaviors frequently reported within academic departments. It is a tool
to help faculty members and others engage in productive discussions about faculty
bullying while protecting anonymity.
The video is designed to be used with Toxic Friday: Resources for Addressing Faculty Bullying in Higher Education, which can be purchased through your favorite bookseller. Buying the book will allow permanent access to the online video.
We invite you to use these resources to launch substantive discussions that promote respectful, healthy, and safe workplaces for all members of the higher education community.
Additional background information about this project can be found on the Anti-Bullying in Academia page.

“This book addresses a lacuna in the professional literature. It is rich in information, grounded in research, and reflective of many faculty members’ experiences. It educates, provides ways to engage in discussion, illuminates cultural and structural influences, and suggests strategies at numerous levels for action. Incredible and rich… A great resource for any university, any faculty, any administrator, any union!”
