Military Programs

  • Advance in Your Career

Military Programs, located on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER), provide courses and services to the active duty, guard and reserve members on the base. Spouses, children and civilian employees also benefit from the services provided.

COVID-19 Update:

UAA will be returning to the bases in the fall, following all approved COVID-19 restrictions. Services will include on base course offerings, as well as dedicated hours for academic advising and other assistance.

UAA supports military personnel and their families throughout the UAA service area through UAA Military Programs. With two locations on Joint Base Elmendorf/Richardson (JBER), UAA offers courses for active-duty, National Guard and Reserve personnel; their spouses and dependents; and Department of Defense civilian personnel.

Courses offerings are designed to meet military and veteran students’ academic goals, including transferable general education courses, courses that support the completion of the Community College of the Air Force degrees, and courses that apply toward a range of UAA programs.

UAA is an ArmyIgnitEd school and participates in the Air Force Education Portal and the My Career Advancement Program offered to spouses. UAA accepts DSST and CLEP exams and evaluates military training for degree-seeking students.

Military and Veteran Student Services (MVSS) is the first point of contact at UAA for service members, veterans, and their families. In addition to connecting students to the service they need, the office directly assists students in completing military or veteran specific paperwork, using military tuition assistance (scroll down to Military Tuition Assistance section) and requesting evaluation of military credit, among other things.

Please contact Military and Veteran Student Services at (907)786-6962 or by email, or visit the MVSS website.
