Scholarship Opportunities

UAA School of Education is pleased to offer students a variety of scholarship opportunities to assist with their academic goals. Awards are available for all SOE programs:

  • Early Childhood Development

    $500 scholarships available for admitted Early Childhood AAS students. Application deadline is March 30th.

  • Education Leadership
    • $1000 scholarships available for educators who apply to the UAA Graduate School, are accepted into the Graduate Certificate Principal or M.Ed. Educational Leadership Program by May 1, 2020, and are selected by the EDL Scholarship Application Committee. The award must be applied to EDL A610 - Orientation to Graduate Studies in Leadership.
    • Central Alaska Retired Teachers Association (CARTA) will award one to three $2,500 scholarships this spring to students whose home is in the Anchorage Municipality, Mat-Su Borough, Kenai Peninsula Borough, or Kodiak Borough, and who are enrolled as undergraduate or graduate students in accredited programs leading to teacher certification (Type A, B, or C) at either APU, UAA, UAF, or UAS for the 2020-2021 academic school year.  Preference will be given to students within four semesters of the completion of certification requirements and to those planning to teach in Alaska. Applications are due April 1st.
  • Language Education
    $1000 scholarships available for the first six (6) educators who apply to the UAA Graduate School and are accepted into the Language Education Graduate Certificate program by May 1, 2020. The award must be applied to a class offered in summer 2020.
  • Special Education
    $1000 scholarships available for the first ten (10) educators who apply to the UAA Graduate School and are accepted into the Special Education Graduate Certificate or M.Ed. program by May 1, 2020. The award must be applied to a class offered in summer 2020.
  • Teaching & Learning
    $1000 scholarships available for the first six (6) educators who apply to the UAA Graduate School and are accepted into the M.Ed. Teaching and Learning program by May 1, 2020. The award must be applied to a class offered in summer 2020.
