List of duties:

  • Manage College of Business & Public Policy’s budget system. Support executive management in the overall long and short range financial planning of the College
  • Oversee College general fund, restricted, unrestricted, match, UA Foundation (Endowments, Agreements and scholarships) funds and accounts
  • Monitor and oversee Alaska SBDC (Small Business Development Center), CEE (Center of Economic Education) and the CED (Center of Economic Development), ISER (Institute of Social and Economic Research) fiscal operations
  • Provide budgetary training to the Institute and Centers fiscal managers and administrative assistants to ensure regulations are followed and compliance requirements are met  
  • Manage all business and financial aspects of the College of Business & Public Policy’s grants and contracts
  • Monitor project progress to assure compliance with timelines, deliverables and budget requirements
  • Prepare university management report and assess the management reports of the Institute and Centers
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on HR, fiscal and compliance issues to make sure proper procedures are followed regarding fiscal-related responsibilities and activities
  • Provide leadership in the areas of planning and personnel management 
  • Manage the Rasmuson building and maintain efficient use of space within the College while meeting the needs of expanding programs
  • Manage and coordinate all projects for improvements and renovations within the Rasmuson building
  • Oversee the timesheet reporting process, hiring, terminations, VISA information and related paperwork, along with all other required hiring documentation
  • Provide necessary training to faculty, staff, department chairs, adjuncts, temps, terms and students in HR related processes
