Civil Engineering

Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works like roads, bridges, canals, dams, and buildings.  Civil engineering is the oldest engineering discipline after military engineering.

The Civil Engineering program provides a hands-on experience through partnership with local consulting firms, government agencies and not-for-profit organizations.  Representatives of the professional community are engaged with students in classes to design actual projects for helping our Alaskan community.

Engineers are leaders and are constantly looking for ways to provide society with an improved standard of living.
