CTE Professional Development & Continuing Education

The Career & Technical Education department is committed to providing quality professional development opportunities for in-service teachers and faculty, counselors, and administrators to enhance their skills.

The CTE Department offers several options for anyone seeking professional development.

Regularly scheduled CTE courses: As part of the Master's of Science, Career & Technical Education (MSCTE) program and Graduate Certificate in CTE, several classes are offered each semester or during the summer. For current course listings, please visit course offerings.
Customized professional development courses: If you know of a learning opportunity that you think would be appropriate for professional development credit, either for yourself or a group of CTE educators, our staff will be happy to work with you to develop a course. Please contact a CTE faculty member at least two weeks before you want the course to begin.

Statewide CTE conferences/events: The CTE department works with the Alaska Association for Career & Technical Education (AACTE), the Alaska Department of Education and local school district to offer professional development credit for various statewide CTE learning opportunities.
