U-Pass 20 years

UAA Parking Services and people mover are celebrating our platinum partenrship.

What is U-Pass?
It's your Wolfcard! As long as you have an active Wolfcard - faculty, staff, and students can ride People Mover and Valley Transit for free.

Enjoy a ride on one of People Mover's many routes and save yourself money and the inconvenience of finding a parking place.

What is a Platinum Partnership?
Platinum is a tough metal and one of the purest. It represents the bond Parking Services and People Mover has had providing UAA and the community safe, reliable transportation to campus and around town over the last 20 years.

Look for the #UPASS20 on social media.

What is Park(ing) Day? UAA Parking Services has teamed up with Anchorage Parks and Recreation to celebrate the 2018 Park(ing) Day. Park(ing) Day is an annual, global event on the third Friday of September.  Citizens, Artists, and Activists collaborate to temporarily transform parking spots into "Park(ing)" spaces. This event is open to all students, clubs, staff, and faculty, and will be located on the first level of the Engineering Parking Garage. 20 spaces will be available, so grab your friends, coworkers, or other club members and sign up today!

Simply fill out the application with information about your Park(ing) design, lead contact person, desired location, and a diagram of your parkletOnce you have submitted your Park(ing) Day Anchorage application and have received approval, gather your team to prepare materials, build, hang out in, and tear down your parklet on the day of the event. You will be responsible for funding the construction of your own parklet, so be creative in your design and use.

-Parklets can be set up the morning of Friday, September 21st and must be removed and the site cleaned by 6pm of that day.
-Parklets must be staffed and monitored for the entire time they are set up.

Need some ideas on what to do for your parklet? (suggested but by no means limited to):

Public Park, Hammock Park, Pedal Powered, Arts/Crafts, Performance Space, Art Gallery, Outdoor Classroom, Interactive Sculpture,
Free Neck Massage, Kiddie Pool filled with balloons, Free Bike Repair, Solar Panel Demo, Exercise Class, Chess Tournament, Lawn Bowling, Luau, Music Showcase, Health Awareness, AND MORE!

After all the booths are set up, a team of Parking Services members will go through and select a parklet to win a semester Parking Permit!
