Room Assignments

Fall room assignments will be available to view in My Housing (via UAOnline) in early August. You will receive an email from the Housing Office once assignments are finalized and are available to view. Your roommates will be listed in My Housing, along with their email addresses, so you can contact your future roommates and plan for the upcoming semester.  

Because room assignments for new students in the spring are dependent on mid-year cancellations, room assignments for new students entering campus housing in the spring will not be set until late December or early January following fall check-out.  You'll receive an email when your assignment is set and ready to view. 

Be sure to keep your preferred email address updated on your UAOnline account (under Personal Information). All communication from the Housing Office will be directed to your preferred email address.  


 

Check In

Check-In for Fall Semesters begins the Thursday before classes begin.  Check-in for Spring Semesters begins the Saturday before classes start. Be sure to plan your travel to Anchorage to correspond with these dates.

To check in to campus housing, please come to the Gorsuch Commons.  See a map of the Residential Campus area on the UAA Housing website. 

Fall 2016 Check-in Schedule

  • Thursday, August 25, 10 am - 5 pm
  • Friday, August 26, 10 am - 5 pm
  • Saturday, August 27, 10 am - 2 pm
  • Sunday, August 28, 1 - 4 pm

If you are arriving in Anchorage on any of these dates, but after the hours of check-in, you may call the Resident Advisor (RA) on duty (we will email you phone numbers for the RAs closer to the check-in date). They will let you into your room for the evening and you can formally check-in during check-in hours or at the Housing Desk the next day.


If you are not able to check-in by 4pm on the last day of check-in, please contact UAA Housing at 907-751-7202 in advance to have your room held and arrange for an alternate check-in time. Students that do not arrive by the end of the normal check-in process may forfeit their room reservation if they have not contacted our office to arrange for late arrival.
 

Shipping Things to Your New Home

The UAA Housing Office will accept mail starting August 14 for incoming student for the fall semester. To ship personal belongings to campus, please use the following address:

Please be advised that packages or mail that arrives earlier than August 14 will be returned to sender.
