UAA Counseling

There are many free or low cost counseling options available at the University of Alaska Anchorage. Each counseling provider is staffed by trained professionals and supervised students. Services are confidential. 

Psychological Services Center:  Located in the Social Sciences Building, the PSC has appointments available between 8:00 am - 8:00 pm Monday through Thursday and Fridays from 8:00 am -5:00pm.  The clinic operates by appointment only, so please call 907-786-1795 to schedule an appointment or get more information about services. With a sliding fee scale, the PSC provides services based on each individual's ability to pay.

Student Health and Counseling Center: Located in the bottom level of Rasmusson Hall, the SHCC is open from 8:00 am - 7:00 pm Monday through Thursday and Fridays from 8:00 am -5:00 pm. Medical and counseling services are available at no or reduced cost to students. You can reach the Student Health Center at 907-786-4040 and request an appointment for counseling.

Counseling & Support Services: Offered through the Dean of Students office, C&SS provides short-term personal counseling for concerns affecting academic success such as stress, situations causing crises, and life changes. You can reach C&SS at 907-786-6158 to schedule an appointment.


The UAA CARE Team is coordinated by the Dean of Students Office. Their mission is to promote a safe and productive learning, living, and working environment by addressing the needs of students through coordination and assessment of information and developing a supportive plan.
