Open Computer Lab
The Open Computer Lab provides UAA students, faculty and staff access to both Macintosh & Windows workstations with high-speed Internet access for email, university website access and Internet access for research, news, and general use. The lab contains common software applications used for word processing, spreadsheets, publishing, and presentations. It is staffed by IT Services computer consultants to assist in answering students' computing questions.
Learning Skills Lab
The Learning Skills Lab has Mac and Windows workstations, one of which is set up through Disability Support Services (DSS) to benefit students in need of additional assistance. All of the stations are accessible to all UAA students using their login and password and each is loaded with common software applications used for word processing, spreadsheets, publishing and presentations such as Microsoft Office and the Adobe Suite. Additional supplemental programs (Accuplacer, Course Compass, Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary and other related software) are also accessible.
Available to all students, the Open Study area provides a welcome and friendly area for individual or group study sessions. The numerous long tables provide room to spread out for projects and research. Dry erase markers and portable white boards and are available for check-out at the front desk.
Specific tables in the open study area are periodically reserved for RRANN tutoring. The RRANN program provides tutoring for nursing and pre-nursing students only. Please visit the RRANN website for more information and for current schedules.
The East and West Study Dens are available for group use (two to six persons) by reservation or on a walk in basis. Each room is equipped with a white board, and dry erase markers are available for check-out at the front desk. The Study Dens can be reserved up to a week in advance and for up to two hours a day per group. Current UAA students with a valid Wolf Card have priority.
