University Guitar Ensemble in Concert

The Department of Music invites everyone to a special spring concert by the University Guitar Ensemble April 29 at 4 p.m. in the Fine Arts Recital Hall. This is the final performance of the Ensemble under the direction of Professor Rozanne Wilson-Marsh, who is retiring this semester. The concert features Baroque works by Vivaldi and Corelli, adapted for guitar ensemble, as well as an arrangement of Rumores de la Caleta by Albéñiz, originally written for solo piano. Representative works by guitar composers Barrios, Villa-Lobos, and Turina will also be presented, as well as a medley of Russian folk themes arranged for guitar trio. Special guest artists include Tirzah Allsup, guitar; Kea Hufford, piano and Cecelia Frey, flute.
