The Kenai Peninsula College will begin a one year pilot program that waives non resident tuition surcharge, allowing non resident students to pay the in state tuition rate.

Non-resident students will pay the resident tuition cost of $120 per credit for summer classes and $128 per credit starting this fall. Non-residents are typically charged a $299 per credit surcharge resulting in a per credit cost of $427.

"These non-resident students will be able to get their associate's degree or the first two years of their bachelor's degree and save more than $13,000 ight here at KPC," said KPC Director Gary Turner.  "We believe this will provide the incentive for new Kenai Peninsula residents to enroll in one of our programs and not have to wait two years for state residency to begin pursing their college career."
