Software and electronic patents presentation

Everyone is invited to meet Charley F. Brown J.D., M.S., Sept. 11 from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
in LIBRARY 307. Brown will be visiting the UAA Campus with Diane McLean, UA Director
of Intellectual Property and Licensing. Brown is an associate at Needle and Rosenberg,
P.C., a practice that includes patent prosecution, client counseling and opinion work
in the areas of biotechnology, electronics, software and bioinformatics. He is proficient
in methods for exploiting intellectual property data for competitive intelligence
analysis.
Prior to joining Needle and Rosenberg in 2005, Brown graduated from Mercer University,
Walter F. George School of Law, where he served on the National Negotiation Team and
was an officer of the Patent Law and Technology Society. Before attending law school,
Mr. Brown earned a B.B.A. degree in Computer Information Systems from Mercer University.
After attending law school, he earned a M.S. degree in Bioinformatics from the Georgia
Institute of Technology. His graduate research focused on genome and proteome annotation
techniques, sequence analysis, structure prediction, genome assembly improvement and
microarray data analysis.
There will be an informal presentation and time for conversation with Brown. Refreshments
