Music of John Coltrane - Jan. 30, 2008

Hear the music of John Coltrane on Wednesday evening, Jan. 30, when the Rick Zelinsky Quintet takes the stage at the Recital Hall of the Fine Arts Building at the UAA. The show combines a slide-show presentation about Coltrane, his life, his music and his influences with musical selections drawn largely from his "Giant Steps" and "Blue Train" recording sessions.

The quintet consists of Rick Zelinsky (tenor and soprano sax), Pat Owens (trumpet), Evgeny Chernonog (piano), Dirk Westfall (bass) and Cameron Cartland (drums).

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Advance tickets are $2 UAA students, $5 seniors, other students and military, and $10 general admission now available at the UAA Box Office by calling 786-4849.
