All are welcome to attend an informal brown bag seminar hosted by the UAA Biology department today from noon to 1 p.m. at the USGS Alaska Science Center (1011 E. Tudor Rd., 1st floor BRD Conference Room).

"Assessment of virus movement across continents: using Northern Pintails (Anas acuta) as a test" will be presented by Paul Flint, Jerry Hupp, and Brian Guzzetti and examines the likelihood that migratory birds will transmit highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza from Asia to North America, and the use of Northern Pintails (Anas acuta) as a model for viral transmission.
