Feb. 1, 2008: Snow City, Alaska Quarterly Review and the Rude Mechanicals

Come to Snow City Cafe this Friday, Feb. 1 to hear the poetry of UAA Creative Writing and Literary Arts (CWLA) Master of Fine Arts student Laura Dickinson and CWLA professor and esteemed author Anne Caston. The reading begins at 7 p.m., but if you get there earlier you'll be treated to the musical stylings of the Rude Mechanicals (and friends Elise Gelbart and Blake Reece). Their jam kicks off at 6:30 p.m.

Snow City Cafe is located at 1034 West 4th Avenue (just before L Street). There is no charge for this event. Dave Onofrychuk will host and will tell at least one joke.

Also, don't forget the Alaska Quarterly Review 25th birthday celebration, "Piece of Cake," is Sunday, Feb. 3 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Loussac Library (3rd floor). Click here for more information.
