Building a Resilient Community: Preparing for the Next Earthquake tonight

UAA welcomes earthquake engineering expert Chris Poland to campus tonight for a lecture entitled, "Building a Resilient Community: Preparing for the Next Earthquake." The lecture will take place at 7 p.m. in the Wendy Williamson Auditorium on UAA's campus. Chris Poland will explain how engineers and professionals in all fields can plan for earthquake mitigation and promote community resilience.

Poland, an internationally recognized speaker and authority on earthquake engineering, is the chairman and CEO of Degenkolb Engineers, one of the nation's leading structural engineering firms.

This lecture is free and open to the public. Co-sponsored by the UAA Ralph & Betty George Engineering Ethics Speaker Series and the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute.
